The Corsair is a 9.0” blade and 0.1875” thick, made from premium Crucible Metals CPM M4. We found CPM M4 to be a very flexible steel that also offers amazing wear resistance, as well as being able to endure high impacts. The blade is finished in an ultra-corrosion resistant black KG Gunkote. During our research, we found using KG Gunkote provided a much thinner ceramic-based coating, which adds minimum dimension to critical geometries in the knife.
The Corsair is fitted with premium Camo Carbon Fiber handles, giving it a unique design with a sturdy feel, ready to be used in any scenario. With precision-turned titanium tubing, we can hold incredibly tight tolerances which allow our handles to be press fitted and secured using friction. This is a significant upgrade, solving the issue of handle scale fracturing and separation from the steel.
Additionally, we have developed a way to ensure long lasting handle fitment with our set pins, as the handle materials tend to swell and condense in different climates. To finish the handle scales, we developed a monolithic texturing process that allows us to produce seamless texture across multiple materials in the handle, leaving you with a comfortable and strong fit. Lastly, the titanium tubes also allow the user to fasten safety lanyards to the knife.
One of the most iconic features on the Corsair is our patent pending Positive Jimping™. Traditionally, fixed and folding knives have small round cuts near the thumb ramp, called “Jimping,” to add grip to the knife. However, we found that to be slightly uncomfortable and aesthetically lacking. We set out to find a way to secure small, precision-machined titanium rods into the jimping recesses to provide a positive texture. The Positive Jimping™ provides a smoother grip option for the thumb and adds a refined touch to the Corsair’s overall design.
Included with this blade is a serialized authenticity card, a suede lined KYDEX® sheath and leather mounting strap, and a premium S3 case with die cut foam liner.
